by Mary Lucia and Tapes n' Tapes

January 12, 2011

Formed out of Carleton College, this local quartet quickly found success and critically positive reviews from Pitchfork and Gorillas vs. Bear as well as signing to a major label within a year of their debut record.

They are one of indie music's most notable examples of a blogworthy buzz band, and continue to be ingrained in the local music community, playing in various side projects. They recorded "The Loon" in a Wisconsin cabin, like every good Midwestern musician, and released their third effort, "Outside," on January 11, 2011.

Tapes n' Tapes stopped by The Current studio and performed: "When In The World," "Bada Boom" and "Freak Out."
