While it isn't necessary for an artist promoting new music to come with an intriguing backstory, it definitely doesn't hurt. Skott (so the internet says) grew up in a forest commune of folk musicians. The cynic in me wants to roll her eyes, but, hey, I like a good story … so, living in the forest community kept Skott away from the cynicism and sounds that were happening elsewhere in the world. She connected with the forest and its creatures. Spent her days listening to and making music with the rest of the community. When she was a teen, she ventured into the city and heard pop music for the very first time. Somehow, she discovered Soundcloud, and then the world discovered Skott.

What kind of music does a childhood wondering in the forest create? Shimmery, hypnotic pop that would perfectly soundtrack a night out at a fairy-wonderland dance club.

Bleating, manipulated horns kick off the ethereal new song "Glitter and Gloss" from the Scandinavian artist. The music is both glittery and glossy. It is a song about the beautiful and shiny exterior hiding a deeper and stronger person. The 808-esque drum beats skitter and stutter, quitting altogether to emphasize specific lyrical moments before laying in on the beat even heavier. Skott's angelic voice floating through the mist of sound is fragile, while tossing out a punchy lyric.
