For the right audience, this is a once-in-a-lifetime pop culture dream come true: Bonnie Tyler will perform her 1983 hit "Total Eclipse of the Heart" during a total eclipse of the sun. Tyler has signed on to join Royal Caribbean's Total Eclipse Cruise, which will be right in the path of the total solar eclipse this coming Monday, Aug. 21. Her backing band for the song will be Joe Jonas’s pop group DNCE.

Spotify deletes hate

Spotify has removed several artists identified as racist "hate bands" in a report from the Southern Poverty Law Center. "Spotify takes immediate action to remove any such material as soon as it has been brought to our attention," said a spokesperson for the streaming giant. Noel Gallagher benefit concert to reopen Manchester Arena

The Manchester Arena will officially reopen on Sept. 9, having been closed since a terrorist attack killed 22 people after a May 22 Ariana Grande concert. Manchester hero Noel Gallagher will headline the show, a benefit for a fund that aims to establish a permanent memorial. Also in the lineup: Rick Astley and other British acts. (New York Times)

St. Vincent to direct Portrait of Dorian Gray film

St. Vincent (Annie Clark), who recently made her directorial debut with a short film in the horror anthology XX, will get behind the camera again for a feature-length adaptation of Oscar Wilde’s novel The Portrait of Dorian Gray. A woman will be cast in the title role of the re-imagined story, Variety reports.

Graceland announces new music venue

As Graceland welcomed 55,000 fans to a candle-lighting ceremony marking the 40th anniversary of Elvis Presley’s death, the venue's Joel Weinshanker (who was also closely involved with the opening of Paisley Park as a museum) told Billboard that the estate's future plans include the construction of a 2,000-seat theater. Graceland's proprietors want the venue to become a must-play destination for "almost any band around the world that comes to the United States."

Utility boxes decorated to honor Prince

Four electrical utility boxes between 34th and 38th streets and Park Avenue and Interstate 35W in Minneapolis have been decorated with the likeness of Prince. The artworks were commissioned by the Central Area Neighborhood Development Organization as a way to recognize the South Minneapolis neighborhood where Prince attended junior and senior high school.
