Listen to new music from Los Angeles artists Warpaint and Denzel Curry; San Francisco’s Toro Y Moi; Canadian artists Bob Moses and PUP; and Minnesota’s own Jija.

Warpaint, “Champion”

Some songs just bring you a sense of calm, and with lyrics like "I'm an ocean, breathing in and out," Warpaint's new song "Champion" brings the zen for 2022. The four-piece will be releasing their first album in six years with Radiate Like This, coming out in May. The first song is about “being a champion to oneself and for others,” the band said in a press release. “We are all in this together, life is too short not to strive for excellence in all that we do.”

Bob Moses, “Love Brand New”

The electronic duo, Bob Moses, split their time between Canada and California, and they make music that is a blend of that cold-weather-restrained rock and California-cool swagger. They will be putting out The Silence in Between on March 4. The video for the song was filmed in a freezing warehouse in Canada in December, but the band pull off the hot club energy.

PUP, “Robot Writes A Love Song”

If you miss the Flaming Lips and Weezer of the ‘90s, PUP are here to fill the void. The quirky and catchy Toronto-based band take on the persona of a robot in a failing relationship on their new single, "Robot Writes A Love Song."

Toro Y Moi, “Postman”

Do you wait for something fun to arrive in the mail and find disappointment with junk mail and bills? Chaz Bear, aka Toro Y Moi, is back with his Southern-style chillwave. The gentle sounds of "Postman" welcome him back as we wait for the new album, Mahal.

Denzel Curry, “Walkin’”

Denzel Curry brings a blend of influences to his music; as he says, “I like traditional hip-hop; I like drum and bass; I like trap; I like poetry; so a lot of that is going to be interwoven in this album, including jazz and a lot of genres that I came up on as a kid and just being in my parents’ house." You can hear much of that in the first song from Melt My Eyez See Your Future, "Walkin'."

Jija, “Control”

The Minneapolis-based slow-jam creator, Jija, teamed up with another local, Ness Nite, to help produce her new song, "Control." The song will be on her soon to be released EP,
S I R E N.
